The Impact of Tobacco Use on Household Consumption Patterns in Pakistan
This Report is written by Social Policy and Development Centre (SPDC) in Pakistan. The Report estimates the impact that tobacco use has on household spending in Pakistan and finds that lower-income households spend more of their budget on tobacco than on health or education. The research further finds that if tobacco spending in lower-income households decreases by 50 percent, spending on education and food increases. Therefore, decreasing tobacco use should be a key part of poverty reduction policies and programs.  Click here to read the Report.
