Season's Greetings

It's been a great year for Tobacconomics! Producing and disseminating research across the globe and building new partnerships, 2019 was a full year. We'd like to say THANK YOU to our partners and research collaborators for helping make it all possible. Check out some of our work below!

Country-specific Policy Briefs based on the report are available for Serbia, Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosovo, North Macedonia, and Montenegro.

Tobacconomics Research:

This White Paper and Policy Brief analyzes the globalization of the tobacco leaf market and finds that domestic tobacco control policies do not harm farmers.

This White Paper and Policy Brief examines tobacco tax increases and illicit trade dynamics and concludes that illicit trade should not hinder tax increases.

This Article examines smoker “present” and “projection” biases and finds that these biases lead to private welfare losses of up to $400 per week.
